Hello friends, this is Iceland.
My humans have something they call “menning”. It is an icelandic word that is strongly related to the icelandic word “mennskur” which is an icelandic word for “being human.” In útlenska, “menning” means “Culture.”
Don’t worry. It is not very dangerous at all.
Next Saturday, the humans in Reykjavík will celebrate Menningarnótt. It will be full of “menning” and you can join them.

Halló, human who likes to read small letters. This Tumblr on your Inter-net is a part of Iceland Wants to Be Your Friend, which belongs to something very serious and important called Promote Iceland. Maybe you did not know this, but we can assure you that Iceland would also like to be your friend on Facebook, on Twitter, on Vimeo, and on Flickr. Or you could just read a blog about Iceland, learn every single word in Icelandic, get to know good Icelandic bands that are not Sigur Rós, or tell Iceland a really good story in an email. (And if you are a really töff person who thinks this is all much too krúttlegt and embarrassing you can even go and "hang" with Hipster Iceland.) Do you want to know things about Iceland? You just have to ask. You probably don't believe it, but all of this was created by actual people like you, using brains and fancy machines.
